Lumber Heritage Region Interprtive Plan - Final Version

The the LHR Interpretive Plan consists of the main plan and the appendix. Low-resolution versions of each have been provided here so that the LHR Board may review them before the 1 September board meeting. The plan here is 4.5 Mb and the appendix is just over 1 Mb.

At the board meeting, FERMATA representative Jon Kohl will deliver the following items:

1. A presentation of the final plan.
2. One full-color bound copy of the interpretive plan
3. Black and white copies of the executive summary (the first 10 pages of the plan) for all board members
4. Three copies of a CD containing the high and low resolution PDFs of the plan as well as a complete Word document of the plan (for future editing) as well as an Excel workbook containing all the databased data produced during the planning. The file may also contain a PowerPoint presentation and additional files requested by the board.

FERMATA's Tasks

1. Prepare a detailed interpretive plan that identifies and prioritizes the most significant historic, cultural, outdoor recreation, and nature tourism sites and venues (on public and private lands) where interpretation is currently occurring or is recommended for future development; and identifies the storyline and recurring themes of the existing resources and proposed new developments. FERMATA's approach.

2. Recreation and linkage plan containing a map of all suggested routes, a report describing each route's Intrinsic Quality and a listing of resources that support each quality, and general recommendations of those water, rail (former), and highway routes that possess the potential for possible state scenic byway designation.

 

3. Sign manual.

4. A detailed plan for site-specific interpretative exhibits and signs; and design for up to 30 interpretive signs including writing text, image selection, and camera ready graphic design.
